Work Smart: Timetable Success
As a free bonus to my 10 Stage Traffic Method I include with it the Website Traffic Timetable. This is a plan which breaks down implementing the 10 different traffic methods so that you carry out a little each day – as little in fact as 15 minutes or as much as you like. Readers of the book have commented on how much they like this timetable as sometimes it isn’t lacking knowledge that gets in the way of people gaining success – it is the fact that they don’t put that knowledge into daily action.
What I have come to realise during the time that I have been involved in working on the internet is that it is the small but consistent steps which really bring results. For example if one of the methods you are using is blogging then you need to make sure that you are creating and publishing posts on a regular basis. Try to create a routine for yourself so that you are for example writing a post every other day and put aside the time that you need to do that.
I work full time at a 9 to 5 or sometimes an 8 to 7 job, as well as having to fit in all the other components of having what I would call ‘a life’. Ultimately I would like my online income to replace my job income, and I am steadily working towards that day. However, until that time arrives I have to make sure that I am putting enough time aside to realise my dreams and I also have to make sure that during this time I am working smart, i.e. that I am using the time to its best advantage – and the best way to do this is to have a plan.
So for example if you have 20 things on your ‘to do’ list for a week you need to plan out that you will do 4 a night and then have a couple of ‘free’ days. If there are things that you need to do regularly, i.e. commenting on others blogs, or creating new niche sites, then put aside say an hour each evening for 4 days a week to devote to these.
Only you can know the time you have and the tasks that need to get done – but whatever they are, work them into a brief timetable and stick to them for the week – you will be amazed and proud of how much you start to achieve week on week.
